Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Taliya Khabriyeva, co-chair of the working group on amending the Constitution, was awarded the title of Honored Scientist. The corresponding decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin is published on the portal of legal information.
As follows from the document, the title was awarded for "merits in scientific work and many years of conscientious work."
- The co-chairs of the working group wrote amendments to the fundamental law of the country together with the main legal department of the presidential administration. Changes to the Constitution were proposed by Putin, they have already been approved by the State Duma and the Federation Council, and on July 1 an all-Russian vote will be held.
- The amendments, among other things, reset presidential terms to zero, which would theoretically allow Putin to participate in the next presidential elections.
