The case of the former chairman of the Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people was transferred to the Crimean court

The Main Directorate of the Investigative Committee in Crimea completed an investigation into a criminal case against a citizen of Ukraine, the former chairman of the Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people of Mustafa Dzhemilev. This was reported on the website of the department.

The case was sent to the court for consideration on the merits. Jemylev’s lawyer told the Crimean Solidarity movement that, in violation of procedural norms (part 1 of article 222 of the Code of Criminal Procedure), neither the accused, nor the defense notified the transfer of the case to the court.

Dzhemilev is charged with the illegal crossing of the border (part 3 of article 322 of the Criminal Code), careless storage of firearms (Article 224 of the Criminal Code) and illegal acquisition and storage of ammunition (part 1 of article 222 of the Criminal Code).

According to the SK, Dzhemilev “accompanied by other persons” illegally crossed the Russian border at the Armyansk checkpoint.

Also, the former leader of the Mejlis kept a carbine in the safe, which was known to his son Haiser. In May 2013, Dzhemilev Jr. took possession of weapons and killed a man for them.
