Rest in the resorts of Russia can rise in price by 20-30 percent. This was reported in an interview with the Izvestia newspaper by the Vice President of the Association of Tour operators of Russia (ATOR) Alexander Kournosov. In his opinion, the estimated price growth is associated not only with the desire of tour operators to “recapture the lost profits” due to the pandemic of coronavirus, but also with an increase in demand for domestic tourism with closed boundaries.
"The number of hotels, sanatoriums are also slightly smaller, and the tourist season this year is shorter. All this will allow the owners and management of these objects to increase prices," Kournosov said.
The entrance tourism market into Russia this year, according to the Vice President of ATOR, will probably be zero, since the border will not open soon for foreigners, and the high tourist season falls on the period from May to September. He also noted that the country's tourism industry will be restored no earlier than 2022.
