They decided to draw up a fake report against the Sever.Realii journalist for an interview about disconnecting coronavirus patients from mechanical ventilation

Sever.Realii journalist Tatyana Voltskaya was summoned to the police to draw up a report on fakes (Part 9 of Article 13.15 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) because of an anonymous interview with a St. Petersburg doctor about disconnecting those infected with coronavirus from ventilators. The Center for the Protection of Media Rights told Mediazona about this.

“Apparently, the Investigative Committee decided not to initiate a criminal case, and now the journalist faces a fine for an administrative offense,” the organization added.

On April 11, Sever.Realii published an interview with a St. Petersburg resuscitator. He said that doctors are forced to disconnect some infected people from ventilators due to a shortage of machines. The Investigative Committee began an investigation under the article on fakes (207.1 of the Criminal Code), and the Prosecutor General’s Office demanded that the interview be blocked.

“ Mash on the Moika” on June 8 claimed that Voltskaya’s interview was given by anesthesiologist-resuscitator Pyotr Stekanov from the Nikiforov Center for Emergency and Radiation Medicine. “In the video, the doc confirms: he knows the journalist, he gave an interview on the phone, but the gags there are through the roof,” the post said.

In the video, Stekanov said that he knew Voltskaya. He added that he is not aware of cases of forced removal of patients from mechanical ventilation.
