Today, June 11, the Paris National Opera announced the decision to carry out the renovation of its sites this year. The work will begin in July, the Bastille opera will be closed until November, Opera Garnier - until the end of 2020.

This is stated in a press release from the Paris Opera, which entered the editor of Colta.ru.

The renovation was scheduled for 2021. Changing plans is caused by "uncertainty and restrictions that the sanitary-epidemiological situation imposes on rehearsals, the placement of the public and the self-expression of artists."

The opera opera will open on November 24 with “Travate” in the production of Simon Stone. This performance was intended for the opera Garnier, where all performances are canceled until the end of December 2020.

They will close the season in the opera of the Carmen Bastille in the production of Kaliko Biiteo and Bayaderek in the choreography of Rudolf Nureyev.

Since January 2021, the performance on both scenes of the Parisian opera will resume in accordance with the previously announced schedule.

The press service of the Parisian opera also noted that the repair will make it possible to prepare an expanded program for the 2021/2022 season.
