Presumably, the cause of the incident is the emergency discharge of wastewater due to a plentiful amount of precipitation over the past two days.

The press service of the administration of the city district reported that the complaint about the unpleasant smell and the appearance of a film on the surface of the field river came from local residents. It was noted there that the film on the water is similar "to the soap film; there were no traces of oil products and chemically hazardous substances."
