A participant in pickets against pension reform was fined for slapping a police officer

The Oktyabrsky District Court of Vladimir imposed a fine of 75,000 rubles on Lyubov Rubleva, a participant in pickets against the pension reform, who was accused of using violence against a police officer for slapping her face. It is reported by "Pravozashchita Postcards".

At the same time, the court reclassified the charge from the use of police violence dangerous to life or health (Part 2 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code) to the use of violence that is not dangerous to health (Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code). An independent expert, attracted by the Human Rights Postcards, refuted the conclusions of the investigation about dangerous violence.

The criminal case is connected with a series of single pickets held by Rublyova and her sons on October 8, 2018 on Cathedral Square in Vladimir. During the action, policemen drove up to them to check the documents and the inscriptions on the posters. According to the protocol, Rubleva and her sons violated public order and used foul language. After the arrival of police reinforcements, as a result of the conflict, Rubleva allegedly inflicted serious injuries on a police officer. In this case, the only recorded injury was a slap in the face.

Earlier, the prosecutor requested two years in prison for Rubleva on charges of using violence against a police officer (part 2 of article 318 of the Criminal Code).

• Rubleva considers her persecution politically motivated. According to the publication, since 2010 she has been drawing attention to problems in the law enforcement agencies of Vladimir. The accused is the widow of an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and also previously worked in the police for some time.
• In the fall of 2018, various actions against the pension reform took place throughout Russia. Most people took to the streets on September 9, 2018, when in total, according to OVD-Info, at least 1,195 people were detained.
