The Mozhaisk city court arrested Maria Korshunova, a participant in a motor rally dedicated to the Day of Memory and Sorrow, for three days. This was told to OVD-Info by her father Andrey Korshunov.
The court found Korshunova guilty under the article on organizing a public event without filing a notification (part 2 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). According to the police, it was Korshunova who organized the rally.
Korshunov believes that the court staff deliberately misled him and other people who wanted to support Korshunova at the meeting so that no one would come as listeners. So, the secretary promised to call the detainee's father when the time of the meeting becomes known, but she did not.
Korshunov also said that his daughter was placed in the same cell with men during the detention. The regulation on the conditions of detention of detainees in police departments prohibits the keeping of male and female detainees in the same premises.
Korshunov plans to appeal the court ruling, her father said.
