The picket, who held a poster with an emoticon on Red Square, was fined 75 thousand rubles

The Tver District Court of Moscow fined 75 thousand rubles of an unlimited protest activist Daniil Galitsky, who stood on Red Square and held a piece of paper with a painted emoticon. In court, he was represented by a defender from the OVD-info Kristina Timakov.

Galitsky was found guilty of repeated violation of the rules of public event (part 8 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). The judge imposed a punishment below the minimum threshold of the fine.

Timakova said that the judge refused to call at her petition the police who detained and made a protocol on Galitsky. The activist himself called his action a social experiment.

Galitsky and two other people who stood nearby detained back in December 2019. They were taken to the police department in the Kitay-Gorod district, but the protocol was drawn up only on Galitsky.
