In St. Petersburg, police detained a member of the Yabloko party due to campaigning against amendments to the Constitution.

In St. Petersburg, the police detained Stanislav Bessekersky, a member of the Yabloko party, for distributing leaflets against amendments to the Constitution. This was reported to OVD-Info by a friend of the detainee.

Bessekersky was detained at about 18:45 near Gostiny Dvor. Presumably, he was taken to police station No. 28, but at the moment there is no contact with him.

• In October 2019, Bessekersky was detained because of a picket in support of defendants in the Moscow case and other political prisoners. Then the picket participant left the police station without a protocol.
• On March 11, the State Duma approved the draft law on amendments to the Constitution, initiated by Vladimir Putin. Before that, the President supported the amendment of Deputy Valentina Tereshkova, who proposed to give the President the opportunity to run for two new terms after the adoption of amendments to the Constitution. Sobyanin called the ban on Putin being elected "a destabilizing factor." The general vote on the amendments to the Constitution began on June 25 and will last until July 1.
