The head of a large developer "Pioneer" was found dead in Moscow

Pioneer CEO Andrey Grudin was found dead in the company's Moscow office. According to preliminary data, the businessman committed suicide, in the suicide note it was written about the high debt load of the company.

The incident was first reported by the Mash Telegram channel, the information was also confirmed by a RBC source. According to Interfax interlocutors, a man who may have committed suicide was found in his office by an employee. There was also a note that spoke of a high debt burden.

From the report of the Pioneer group for the first quarter of 2020, it follows that the company's long-term loans amount to 11.15 billion rubles. Of these, 3 billion rubles are loans, and 8 billion rubles are bonded loans, writes RBC. The group had no overdue accounts payable.

Pioneer is a major developer that builds houses and apart-hotels in Moscow and St. Petersburg. The company is now equally owned by Grudin himself and his partner Leonid Maksimov. According to the unified housing construction information system, the group is now building housing on 298,000 square meters: 260,000 in Moscow and 38,000 in St. Petersburg.

The company's website says that Grudin, together with partners, created the company in 2001, at the same time he headed it. In 2012, he was awarded the title of "Honorary Builder of the City of Moscow". At the end of 2019, the Group's revenue amounted to 40 billion rubles, and net profit - 7.6 billion rubles.

Among the objects built by the company in the capital are the Avangard residential building, the Life-Kutuzovsky business class residential complex and the building of the international IB school Brookes. In St. Petersburg, a construction company built a house on Arsenalnaya Embankment, a residential YE'S Residence on Ligovsky Prospekt, and built the First Line resort on the coast of the Gulf of Finland.
