Along with her in the Seventh Studio case were director Kirill Serebrennikov, former general producer of the Seventh Studio Alexey Malobrodsky, general director Yuri Itin, ex-official of the Ministry of Culture Sofya Apfelbaum and wanted producer Ekaterina Voronova.
All of them were accused of large-scale fraud (Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code). According to investigators, they stole 133 million rubles from the budget, which were supposed to be spent on the experimental project “Platform”.
At a meeting on June 26, Serebrennikov was sentenced to 3 years of probation and a fine of 800 thousand rubles, Itin - to three years of probation and a fine of 200 thousand rubles, Malobrodsky - to 2 years and a fine of 200 thousand rubles. Apfelbaum was found guilty of negligence and released from punishment. The prosecutor asked for up to six years in prison.
Maslyaeva was the only one who admitted guilt and testified against other defendants. In particular, the accountant said that she managed the project’s “back office” and helped with cashing out funds, and also testified against the other defendants. Her case was separated into separate proceedings.
