The jury acquitted a Crimean man for the fourth time in the case of the death of a homeless man

The jury in the Simferopol District Court acquitted Saki resident Alexander Buyanov in the case of the death of a homeless man. Buyanov himself told Mediazona about this.

According to investigators , in 2017, a young man attacked homeless Anatoly Paliy, suspecting him of beating his girlfriend’s mother. He died in the hospital with a broken head. Buyanov insists on his innocence and says that on the day of his arrest, operatives beat him and forced him to sign a confession.

At first he was accused of causing grievous bodily harm (Article 111 of the Criminal Code), but then the investigator changed the article to murder (105 of the Criminal Code). After two acquittals in the jury trial, the charge was softened and Buyanov was again charged with causing grievous bodily harm.

When the jury acquitted the Crimean for the third time, the consideration of the criminal case was transferred from the Saki District Court to Simferepol. There are no criminal judges left in Saki who would not preside over Buyanov’s trial. All three acquittals were overturned by the Supreme Court of Crimea.
