In Ingushetia, internally displaced persons from Chechnya were detained who were seeking a meeting with the head of the region

In Magas, the police detained forced migrants from Chechnya who had lost their right to housing, who had gathered at the administration of the head of Ingushetia. This is reported by the "Caucasian Knot".

Several dozen IDPs insisted on meeting with the head of the region, Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov, to discuss compensation for housing lost during the war. In addition, the participants planned to record a video message to the President of Russia.

The deputy head of the ministry of national policy and the vice-premier of the government came out to talk with the migrants. However, an hour after the conversation with the officials, the security forces approached the crowd and demanded that several activists go with them. There was a scuffle, during which one of the security forces began to twist the arms of the girl who was filming what was happening.

According to the release of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, following the scuffle, the police detained four of the 15 activists. For three of them, protocols were drawn up under the article on non-compliance with the rules of conduct in an emergency or the threat of its occurrence (part 1 of article 20.6.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses), in relation to the fourth - disobedience to the lawful order of a police officer (part 1 of article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). All detainees were released from the department.

• According to the "Caucasian Knot", in February 2018, about 200 internally displaced persons from Chechnya complained that they had lost their refugee status and the right to receive housing, having received small compensations. The head of Ingushetia explained this by amendments to federal legislation. People were invited to challenge these amendments in the Constitutional Court themselves. In March 2019, the court declared unconstitutional the provision that internally displaced persons from Chechnya who received monetary compensation are not entitled to housing.
