In Moscow, police detained “Perpetual Protest” supporter Elena Morgunova because of a protest with balloons at the Belorusskaya metro station. Morgunova denies participation in the action. She herself reported this to OVD-Info.
Unknown people in civilian clothes came to the activist’s home, introduced themselves as employees of the criminal investigation department and stated that Morgunova should go with them to the department. The girl refused to go without an official summons. The police left and returned some time later with a notice of a summons to draw up a report. The document indicated that Morgunova was charged with repeated violation of the rules of participation in the action (Part 8 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses), however, there was no mark on the traces of which event they intended to draw up a protocol.
In words, the police tried to convince the Bessrochka supporter that she participated in the action on June 30, during which unknown people launched balloons with the inscription “No to zeroing” at the Belorusskaya metro station.
Morgunova was taken to the 4th Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the Moscow Metro. A lawyer from OVD-Info, Alexander Borkov, came to see her.
16:35 The police do not allow the lawyer from OVD-Info, Alexander Borkov, into the department to see the detained Elena Morgunova.
According to the police, the detainee “doesn’t need this.”
18:20 The detainee was released from the police department with a report on violation of the rules of participation in the rally (Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code). This was reported by the coordinator of legal assistance at OVD-Info, Alla Frolova.
The lawyer was still allowed to see Morgunova, but only after almost two hours. Now the police are planning to check from surveillance cameras whether Morgunova really did not participate in the action with balloons at the Belorusskaya metro station, as she claims.
