
Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov called the All-Russian vote about amendments to the Russian Constitution, RBC reports .
“In fact, a de facto took a triumphal referendum on trust in President Putin,” Peskov said.
According to him, the Kremlin expected the high interest of Russians in the topic of change in the Constitution due to the public activity of the “process of formulating amendments, initiating amendments”, but “such the highest turnout and the highest level of support” was supposedly difficult to predict.
The vote on amendments to the Constitution took place on July 1, the “early” vote began on June 25. According to the results of the processing of 100%of the protocols, the Constitution was supported by 77.92%, 21.27%opposed, the final turnout was 67.97%.
