Meduza correspondent Kristina Safonova was charged with violating the rules of rallies and pickets (Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).
The article under which Safonova's protocol was issued provides for a fine of 10,000-20,000 rubles or up to forty hours of compulsory work.
Kristina Safonova and 16 other people, most of them journalists, were detained on the evening of July 3 near the FSB building on Lubyanka, where pickets were held in support of Pskov journalist Svetlana Prokopyeva.
The detainees spent a total of almost three hours in the atozak: the paddy wagon stood at Lubyanka for an hour, then another two hours in the courtyard of the Zamoskvorechye police department.
