The court arrested the former Deputy Prime Minister of the Dagestan government in the case of the murder of the founder of the newspaper Chernivik

The court arrested the former deputy prime minister of the government of Dagestan Shamil Isaev in the case of the murder of the founder of the newspaper Chernivik, Gadzhimurad Kamalov. It is reported by the "Caucasian Knot".

The Investigative Committee charged Isaev and asked the court to arrest him. The Basmanny Court of Moscow granted the petition. Isaev was arrested for two months, until September 3.

Earlier, Isaev was sentenced to 4.5 years in a colony in the case of a particularly large embezzlement (part 4 of article 160 of the Criminal Code). The court found that Isaev was involved in the theft of more than 80 million rubles allocated from the budget of Dagestan for the development of the tourist base "Orlyn Nest". As it turned out, the base has been owned by an official since 2011.

The founder of the independent newspaper Chernivik, Gadzhimurad Kamalov, was killed in 2011 near the editorial office. The 46-year-old Kamalov was one of the most famous journalists in Dagestan, he headed the Freedom of Speech, which is the founder of the Chernivik newspaper since 2003. In Kamalov, 14 shots were fired.

On the fact of the murder, the case was opened under two articles of the Criminal Code - 105 (murder) and 222 (illegal turnover of weapons). Later, the crime was retrained from the usual encroachment on the life of a public figure (Article 277 of the Criminal Code).
