CSKA won the Russian Hockey Championship with an office decision. SKA was not offended either

The Gagarin Cup was interrupted more than three months ago, but there is still a Russian hockey champion, and this is CSKA. The head of Rosneft and the cartridge of the famous army club Igor Sechin can be pleased - the club has a third title in five years. The fact that one title is experimental, and the second cabinet should not worry anyone - since there was a championship, albeit not finished, there should be a champion.

For the uninitiated: before the adoption of quarantine measures due to the coronavirus epidemic, the continental hockey league managed to conduct only the first round of the Gagarin Cup, which determines the champion and prize-winners.

After a small pause, it was decided that it was inappropriate to play the championship, part of which is also the playoffs, due to the existing epidemiological situation. Accordingly, any decisions on the definition of the winner and prize -winners could be made only retroactively and without clear criteria. But in the process of many months of thinking, the Russian Hockey Federation nevertheless came to the conclusion that the champion of an unfinished season is still necessary.

The experience of the 2014/15 championship was very helpful. Then, in order of the experiment, the KHL management decided that medals should be handed over to the smooth part of the championship, and its cup part, that is, the Gagarin Cup, is a separate tournament.

The experiment tried to revive the old Soviet system-people should fight almost the whole season not only for getting into the playoffs, but also to receive something more significant-and the reputation of the Gagarin Cup to maintain. It was immediately clear that it would not work to unite two opposite principles and both winners would suffer.

Although ... depending on what winners were supposed to be.

One could guess that the new system was being made under the interests of two army clubs, which had long been inflated from excesses of the poured funds, but could not win anything. With the introduction of the formula “medals for the smooth championship”, one of the monsters must have been lucky, but the success of the idea surpassed all the expectations-the regular part of the championship won CSKA and received gold medals, and the Gagarin Cup took the St. Petersburg SKA.

Everything would be fine, but the glory “Rosneft” and “Gazprom”, under whose beginning SKA plays, still did not share.

Both titles turned out to be some kind of unfinished, especially the title of champion of Russia, and it was decided to stop the experiment: who took the Gagarin Cup, that and gold. The finalist is silver, bronze - to the semi -finalist who is higher in the final table of the regular part of the championship. The system is also so-so, but at least with some certainty.

So it was until the spring of this year: Koronavirus crept unnoticed, and again I had to rack my head, whom to appoint the best. If we consider the champion of the winner of the regular part of the championship, then this is CSKA.

True, if competitors knew about such a turn of events in advance, then the final result could be slightly different - the same “Ak Bars” did not have enough only one victory. But Sinclite from bright minds decided that it would be more correct to build on the results of the first round of the playoffs, and then the glasses scored in the smooth part of the championship are already counted.

The fact that everything could change in the second round was not taken into account, the situation had to be fixed on the hemisphere.

CSKA went through the first number and, if you start from the new criteria, became the champion in law. With silver, a dead end was obtained - SKA and Ak Bars in the regular championship finished the nostril in the nostril, the first round passed equally, the indicators were almost identical.

Of course, the decisive argument in favor of the Kazan could be the one that Ak Bars is the winner of the Eastern Conference, and SKA was located behind CSKA in the West. And in any case, two representatives of one conference could not meet in the final.

But Solomonov’s decision of the FHR as an organization that delegated the KHL the right to hold the open championship of Russia was as follows: both medals! Silver. Well, before a heap of bronze, they awarded the Moscow Dynamo, and not the Omsk Vanguard. Which in the smooth championship is above Muscovites, but flew out in the first round of the playoffs.

It is clear that force majeure. It is clear that I wanted some clarity and complete. But if in fairness it is impossible, then it would not be easier to be guided by the distribution of places on the results of the smooth part of the championship, but not to hand medals?

Because both the championship and medals are essentially inferior, undeserved.

In a normal situation, it would be absolutely impossible to expect CSKA and SKA with gold and silver. But then force majeure helped. Roman Rotenberg has already congratulated his SKA with silver medals.

It remains to wait for Igor Sechin to hang a third gold medal on his chest. To whom is the war and to whom the mother is relative.
