It happens that I lost a funny picture, and you have to google it according to very strange descriptions. The community is a place where they can help with the search (or confuse even more).

Most memes are pictures, which is why difficulties constantly arise. If you want to find a joke that I saw, but forgot to save, and very strange google-strokes in the spirit of " a pumped dog, it is worth a loan of trust in Putin nearby, a little one is a little more need to vote for animals ." And it is not a fact that such a text description will lead to the desired meme.

To do this, in VKontakte there is a community “ Search for memes according to the description ” - pictures are laid out there exclusively with tags, by which it is much easier to find the desired meme. True, sometimes such descriptions look comical, which adds additional interest to the public. TJ spoke with his founder Maria Nikolaeva.

Maria is 20 years old, she studies and works in the field of tourism. The girl created the community in 2018: initially it was conceived more like a convenient way to store memes for herself, the maximum - even for friends and friends. Maria received the first audience through Twitter, where she announced the launch of a public, where you can leave and look for memes by tag words: "As it turned out, this problem responds to many."

The idea came spontaneously, at one moment. But the main reason, I think, was my old telephone, on which there was not enough memory, and a completely clogged folder with “preservations” in VKontakte.

I, like everyone else, faced the problem of finding suitable memes and regulations with the help of Google and search on Twitter-as a result, little came out of this, especially if the memes were fresh or too specific.

But one day I remembered that in VKontakte there is a search function on the text on the wall. I quickly created a public, checked whether the search works if in the post itself the keywords describing the meme, I put a random photo on the avatar. And began to fill in memes.

The community subscribers are divided into two camps, each of them remains there for its reason. The former, as expected, are looking for memes with the help of a public: they are either signed and know that they can use tags or come according to the search results (TJ editor, for example, found public when he tried to describe a meme with a penguin “ Well, now I don’t want ”.

The second group of people simply like funny descriptions of pictures. Tags that reveal the meaning of the meme often look absurd, because of which the “search for memes according to the description” is sometimes compared with the Russian version of Aliexpress, which is sometimes known for a strange translation of goods. “I think that the matter is combined with these two factors: many people wrote that a humorous component plays a large role for them, but they sometimes use the search, and vice versa,” Maria notes.

Most people just come due to funny descriptions. I somehow made a survey, and it turned out that somewhere a third of the subscribers really use the public for its intended purpose. Honestly, I thought there would be much less. Plus, if you break through a link or name on the same twitter, then there you can also find a lot of reviews and recommendations of public in this way. But even in the public itself, people often write that they could not find a meme for a long time, and they found it only with us.

For two years, the community gained more than 25 thousand subscribers. According to Maria, the atmosphere has changed most of all during this time: "Previously, there was a more friendly atmosphere, but now there are a lot of pleasant people in the comments."

The plans of the creator of the community - make a bot, who can be directly written, and he will send suitable memes from the wall. Another plan is the release of my own merit: “If the audience has interest, then I will deal with this, I would like to create something unique and such a platform is a great chance.”
