The authorities tried to prevent the Editorial project from interviewing Yulia Tsvetkova

A man who introduced himself as an employee of the administration of Komsomolsk-on-Amur entered the room where LGBT activist Yulia Tsvetkova was giving an interview to a correspondent of the “Editorial” project. MBH Media writes about this, citing Tsvetkova herself.

According to her, the alleged administration employee entered a private premises, began filming what was happening on his phone, and then left, promising to return.

According to Tsvetkova, the incident indicates that she is being monitored.

“The question is who [does this]: the administration, the police. This may sound like nonsense, but how then can we explain that they knew a place that was never publicly announced anywhere, either by us or by correspondents?” - Tsvetkova said.

In her opinion, the attempt by local authorities to prevent the interview also indicates that the city administration does not like the coverage of her criminal case in the press.

“I am immensely outraged by this story. In fact, they threaten us, even if not explicitly,” Tsvetkova said.

• On June 9, Tsvetkova was officially charged with distributing pornography. The reason was her drawings on drawings on the topic of body positivity, published in the public page “Vagina Monologues”.
• On July 2, a second protocol was drawn up against Tsvetkova under the article on promoting non-traditional sexual relations among minors (Part 2 of Article 6.21 of the Administrative Code)
• The activist was previously fined 50 thousand rubles under the article on promoting non-traditional sexual relations among minors (Part 2 of Article 6.21 of the Administrative Code). The punishment was imposed in connection with publications in the groups “Komsomolskaya Pravda. Intersectional Feminism" and "The Last Supper - LGBTQIAPP on Amur | 18" on VKontakte.
• Before the criminal prosecution, Tsvetkova led the MERAK youth theater studio, which had to be closed because the activist was constantly called to the E Center due to anonymous complaints about the promotion of non-traditional sexual relationships. They tried to force a minor former actor of the MERAK theater to become a victim in a criminal case against the activist.
