According to Aeroflot, 39 passengers arrived at check-in with cages containing 71 pets. Each person who came had from one to five cells, the company adds.

“A significant part of the animals were housed in identical transport cages. An attempt to carry out a flight with such a load is contrary to accepted norms and rules and would inevitably lead to their mass death. “No passenger plane can take on board such a number of pets,” explained Aeroflot.

In addition, the company conducted an investigation into the incident. According to Aeroflot, the transportation of animals was smuggling. The company added that Elizaveta Ivanova, who spoke about the company’s refusal to transport pets, tried to massively export animals that did not belong to her.

“The unfortunate organizer tried to organize the removal of animals in quantities many times greater than the capabilities of the aircraft. Finally, we know nothing reliably either about the goals or the true organizers of this transportation,” the press service added.

Earlier, Ivanova said that her husband was not allowed on the export flight from Shanghai with his dog. According to the girl, Aeroflot assured that animals would be taken on board, but at the airport it turned out that this was not the case. Ivanova’s husband had to fly to Moscow alone, and the dog was left with friends.
