“Arig Us”: three Buryat police officers were detained for sexual violence against a teenager

In Ulan-Ude, three employees of the criminal investigation department of police department No. 2 were detained due to the “use of unauthorized interrogation methods” on a 17-year-old teenager. This was reported by the Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the Republic of Buryatia.

The Investigative Committee does not specify the article under which the police were detained. “Arig Us,” citing a source , writes that “we are talking about violent acts of a sexual nature” against the teenager.

According to investigators, on July 4, around noon, police detained a young man on suspicion of theft, took him to the police department, and there “used violence.” The Investigative Committee intends to petition for the arrest of the operatives.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs says that when trying to detain the teenager, he jumped out of a second-floor window and tried to escape. According to the police, he was caught and taken to the department, but was soon released, deciding that he was not involved in the thefts. On the evening of the same day, the teenager was admitted to the hospital. He said that he was beaten by the police. The Ministry of Internal Affairs began an investigation and temporarily suspended three operatives from work.
