In the Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg, the prosecutor requested a period of up to nine years in three police officers accused of raping a girl in a service car. This was reported by "Mediazona" with reference to lawyer Alexei Bushmakov, who collaborates with the human rights organization "Zone of Law".

The court requested nine years in a maximum security colony by the police Vyacheslav Tropin and Andrei Bessarabov, as well as eight years of the colony Vadim Mustafin.

On August 18, 2019, employees of the PPS Bessarabov, Mustafin and Tropin met the girl, and, according to investigators, brought her into a patrol car and raped her. After 17 police officers were punished. In addition to the accused, three direct heads of police officers accused of rape were dismissed , three people were reduced, eight officers warned of responsibility. Three more officials of the Sverdlovsk Ministry of Internal Affairs are also warned of responsibility.

The police were fired with the charge under paragraph “A” of part 2 of Article 131 of the Criminal Code (rape committed by a group of persons) and under paragraph “A” of part 2 of Article 132 of the Criminal Code (other actions of a sexual nature).

Earlier, three police officers were under house arrest, after which they changed the measure of restraint to a ban on communicating with each other, with witnesses and the victim. According to the lawyer Bushmakov, the investigation tried to re -qualify the case of rape for sex by mutual agreement. “They believe that the victim had provided intimate services, so it was possible to rape it,” Bushmakov said.
