"House in the swamp." Why in Bibirevo they protest against renovation

In one of the largest areas of Moscow, Bibirevo from yesterday has been continuing the active protest of local residents against the construction of a 24-story building under the renovation program. This house does not like the Bibirevians at once for several reasons, the most important thing is that in the place of the alleged construction, unstable soil with active groundwater. The city authorities and the developer do not share the fears of the inhabitants and instead of holding a public hearings they send the police, which delayed the dissatisfied.

Locals launched the collection of signatures against the construction of the house - they already managed to collect several hundred votes. “The houses are built on the embankment, the land is swampy, the construction on this place is simply dangerous, when creating a pit or hammering huge piles, nearby houses will go cracks and can simply collapse,” writes the local activist Svetlana Golitsyna. The developer - the Muscapstroy company - does not contact local residents and does not explain to them how dangerous construction is in reality. Also, the Bibirers are worried that the construction of a high -rise building will destroy the square. According to them, this is the only green place nearby in which you can "walk with strollers and even arrange picnics."

Another problem is that the project of the new house greatly exceeds the initially agreed maximum height of the houses built in renovation. Three years ago, when starting the program, the Moscow authorities promised that they would not build houses above 14 floors. The height of the planned building in Bibirevo is 24 floors.

Earlier, at the site of the alleged construction, activists organized a 24 -hour headquarters, but on July 7 the police arrived at the headquarters and dispersed the opponents of the construction site. Several people were detained, they drew up administrative protocols on disobedience to the requirements of police officers.

Residents of almost every district of Moscow are faced with the problem of building houses that differ from projects presented at the initial stage of renovation. Sergey Sobyanin, mayor of Moscow: “These are at home from six to 14 floors, this is such an average development with the density provided by the General Plan of Moscow.”

Marat Khusnullin , at that time-deputy Sobyanin on urban planning and construction issues, now-Deputy Prime Minister: “Each is not like the region-the quarter-the number of storeys will be a variable. On average from 6 to 14. Perhaps somewhere and a little higher. Absolutely: we will not build any skyscrapers. Moreover, skyscrapers are buildings above 100 meters, that is, floors like this 27–28. ”

Sergey Kuznetsov, chief architect of Moscow: "We will not switch to the format of residential Manhattan."

As the municipal deputy of the North Izmailovo district Dmitry Baranovsky calculated, 80% of all houses that will appear in Moscow as part of renovation will be above 14 floors.
