The State Duma proposed to analyze Russia's international agreements for compliance with amendments to the Constitution

The State Duma speaker Vyacheslav Volodin proposed to analyze all Russia's international agreements for compliance with the amendments to the Constitution. It is reported by TASS.

“We are talking about strengthening our country in the international arena, about strengthening our sovereignty,” Volodin said. After the entry into force of amendments to the Constitution, it is necessary to analyze “all its interstate agreements within the framework of international organizations that have formed the legal field in this part during the 1990s and until today are valid,” said the speaker.

Volodin also issued an offer to notify international organizations that the Russian Constitution will now dominate the decisions that these organizations will adopt. “We are talking about the supremacy of our Constitution over international agreements, on decisions of international organizations,” Volodin said.

Amendments to the Constitution entered into force on July 4. For amendments, according to the CEC, 77.92% voted , against - 21.27% of the voting participants.
