"I expected a lot of things, but not so hard." Furgal did not plead guilty to organizing murders

The Governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Sergey Furgal, detained on suspicion of organizing murders, does not plead guilty. This was reported by Interfax with reference to the executive secretary of the Public Supervisory Commission (PMC) Alexei Melnikov.

Now the governor is contained in the Moscow IVS-1. “I expected a lot of things, but not so hard,” said Furgal during a meeting with PMC members.

On July 9, the FSB officers and the Investigative Committee detained the Governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Sergei Furgal on suspicion of organizing murders. According to the investigation, Furgal was the organizer of a number of attempts on entrepreneurs in the Khabarovsk Territory and the Amur Region in 2004 and 2005. Also in this case, two deputies of the Khabarovsk Regional Duma were detained.

LDPR candidate Sergey Furgal became the governor of the Khabarovsk Territory in 2018, gaining almost 70% of the vote in the second round of elections and bypassing the current Governor-Dressors Vyacheslav Shorta. Before that, he was a deputy of the State Duma of the fifth, sixth and seventh convocations.

The Khabarovsk Territory took the sixth place in the list of regions with the greatest protest voting on amendments to the Constitution - 62.28% of voters allegedly voted for changing the Constitution. At the same time, the turnout in the region amounted to 41.68% - a smaller number of voters came to sites only in Kamchatka.
