On the morning of July 9, six employees of Open Russia and MBH Media were searches . Among them are the chief editor of MBH Media Sergey Prostakov, the coordinators of Open Russia Tatyana Usmanova, Olga Gorelik and Maria Kuznetsova; As well as the executive director of the organization Andrei Pivovarov and the coordinator of “Human Rights Cards” Alexei Pryanishnikov, who lives in Tomsk.

In addition, searches were held with the municipal deputy Julia Galyamina. She was at that moment in the country, her minor son was in the apartment.

Formally searches are related to the case of Yukos. At the same time, some of those who the security forces came to today were still minors in 2003. According to Konstantin Fomin, spokeswoman for Open Russia, actually searches could have been held due to a rally against amendments to the Constitution, which was planned on July 15.

Open Russia employees seized equipment. Some of them were taken for interrogation to the Investigative Committee. The police also came to the organization’s office. The Coordinator of Open Russia Dmitry Zair-bek said that yesterday in the building the cameras were suddenly turned off. He suggested that they could throw something into the office.
