On the morning of July 9, law enforcement officers began a search in the apartments of Open Russia and MBH Media employees, as well as the municipal deputy Julia Galyamina. In total, five searches are taking place in Moscow and Tomsk. It is reported by "MBH Media".

The coordinators of Open Russia Tatyana Usmanova and Olga Gorelik spoke about searches. At 06:19, the municipal deputy Galyamin also announced the arrival of the security forces. At about 06:30 in the morning, the chief editor of MBH Media Sergey Prostakov reported about the searches. Later it became known that the lawyer of the Human Rights Cards Alexei Pryanishnikov also began a search, he lives in Tomsk.

A formal reason for searches at Usmanova, Gorelik and Prostakova is the case of Yukos in 2003, says Konstantin Fomin, spokeswoman for Open Russia. At the same time, in his opinion, the real reason may be an application for a rally on July 15 in Moscow against amendments to the Constitution. The same rally should be held in St. Petersburg.

According to MBH Media, lawyers are not allowed to Prostakov and Galyamina.
