The rally in Khabarovsk began on Lenin Square - at 12 o’clock in local time protesters gathered there. It turned out that the square is fenced . Aleksey Vorsin, the Coordinator of the Navalny headquarters in Khabarovsk, spoke at the square : he demanded an open trial in the Furgal case. Later, the press secretary of Furgal Nadezhda Tomchenko came to the protesters. She thanked the residents of the city for support and noted that it was not worth staying in the square due to the danger of coronavirus infection and due to possible detentions. By four o’clock in the evening of local time, people began to diverge home. According to various estimates, from 10 to 40 thousand people entered the action.
The promotions in support of Furgal were also held in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Elban, Solnechny, Nikolaevsk and other cities. The press service of the governor thanked those gathered in support of Furgal. “Thank you for your support. Neither the Khabarovsk Territory, nor the Far East, nor Russia had yet seen such a unanimity. We are sure that you will be heard, ”the report said.
On July 10, the Basmanny District Court arrested the Governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Sergey Furgal for two months, until September 9. According to the investigation, Furgal was the organizer of a number of attempts on entrepreneurs in the Khabarovsk Territory and the Amur Region in 2004 and 2005.
