Kursk governor deprived of officials for spelling errors

The Governor of the Kursk Region Roman Starovoit decided to fine officials for mistakes in spelling, RBC reports .

“Previously, he made oral remarks for this, but after the last two cases he had to resort to disciplinary sanction: he deprived the guilty bonus per quarter,” Starovoit said. He added that he considers any mistakes in official correspondence unacceptable. “One incorrectly set comma can distort the meaning of what has been written. Therefore, for me, the employee’s illiteracy is an occasion to think about the conformity of a person held, ”the governor said.

According to Starovoit, all employees of the regional administration, as well as candidates for jobs are now tested for knowledge of the Russian language. There is a corrector in the administration, but often after checking it, the document is supplemented, after which errors appear in it, Starovaya said.

The usual size of the bonus is half the salary, as well as surcharges depending on the rank. For the consultant, the amount is 3.8 thousand rubles, for the chairman of the committee - 10 thousand rubles, the governor explained.
