A Moscow activist was attacked in St. Petersburg and doused with a mixture of vinegar; after that she was detained by the police

Moscow activist Margarita Konovalova was attacked while getting off a train in St. Petersburg. Konovalova herself told Mediazona about this.

According to the activist, at 13:30 she arrived in St. Petersburg. Immediately upon exiting the train, two unknown people doused her with “a mixture of chocolate, vinegar, juice and something else.”

Immediately after this, Konovalova was detained and taken to the police department. The activist added that liquid spilled over her phone's keyboard and speaker. Apology of Protest lawyer Alexander Peredruk went to see the detainee.

Konovalova was already detained in St. Petersburg in May under the pretext that she was “illegally present” in the city. The security forces constantly told the activist that she was a girl and was going to organize an action, and also mentioned Pussy Riot . Konovalova insisted that she did not intend to organize an action, but came to St. Petersburg to visit a friend. She was taken to the Zarya sanatorium near St. Petersburg, where she was kept for a day in a glass box in intensive care, and her clothes and phone were taken away.

In June, Konovalova was detained in Moscow along with Verzilov. They were kept for about 12 hours at the Krasnoselsky police station, where Verzilov was interrogated as a witness in the “Moscow case.”
