The Department of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Moscow told “Takim Dela” how things are in psychoneurological boarding school No. 2 in Serpukhov. Employees told TD that there was a coronavirus outbreak in the institution.

The department confirmed that there were cases of COVID-19 at the PNI. The number of cases among the residents of the boarding school is less than 10% of the total; the department did not provide exact figures. Most coronavirus cases were asymptomatic. Wards with a confirmed diagnosis are under observation, sick boarding school employees are being treated at home. During the pandemic, three residents of the boarding school were taken in by relatives.

“We emphasize that if signs of a viral infection are detected in institutions, we, of course, hospitalize such residents and provide them with appropriate assistance, and isolate contact people,” the department added.

The department claims that all institutions, including PNI No. 2, are provided with non-contact thermometers, antiseptics and personal protective equipment, UV irradiators and disinfectants, and staff wear protective clothing, masks and gloves.

The department denies that boarding school employees did not receive payments promised by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Inna (name changed), who works at PNI, told TD about this.

“The boarding school employees receive presidential payments on time and in full; there have been no complaints from specialists. The woman discussed in the material entered into an agreement with a company providing care services under the agreement. For its part, the Moscow Department of Labor and Social Protection made all payments to this company, the direct employer,” the department said.

Inna told “Takim Dela” that 49 residents and four employees fell ill with the coronavirus at the boarding school.
