- Most importantly, it was outraged how he [Sergei Furgal] was delayed - they grabbed his head. Well, I don’t know, he is an intelligent person, somehow they would have been detained in an intelligent person, and it’s not good ... ”says the Khabarovsk woman Galina, one of several tens of thousands of participants in the next protest, which took place in the city on July 18.
She does not believe in the Governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Sergei Furgal, arrested on July 9. Galina, a woman with a neat curl and in a medical mask, stands in the shadow of the Christmas trees near the building of the regional government on Lenin Square, with which all rallies and processions begin in support of the van - they are going in Khabarovsk since July 11 in the evening. Meanwhile, there are more and more people in the square, they unfold posters: “ DV . We don’t throw our own ”,“ Sergei Ivanovich I/we are with you ”, the white-blue-green flags of the Khabarovsk Territory, a large banner“ Freedom to Sergey Furgalu ”. But most of all there are people with sheets of A4 format, on which it is written "I/we Sergey Furgal."
The rally should begin at 12 o’clock. So it is written in the picture that the Khabarovsk residents send each other in messengers. On it, the photo of the van in the red frame and the signature "Governor disappeared, special signs: wears a blue suit, they love it very much in Khabarovsk." In addition to this newsletter, the rally does not have a special organization - the popular Khabarovsk bloggers of calls were not published. Even the local headquarters of Navalny wrote in his social networks neatly - that he plans to broadcast from Lenin Square on Saturday at 12.00. The day before, a local resident told the Rain television channel that the WhatsApp began to hack chats in which a rally was discussed.
A large banner “I/we ask for silence from the square from the square. Your patients Hospital No. 2 ”. The publication DVhab.ru the day before wrote that the banner was ordered by the Ministry of Internal Policy of Khabarovsk.
At exactly 12 o’clock, more than a thousand people gathered in the square, they begin to chant “Furgal - our choice” and “Honest Court in Khabarovsk”. Although the action, like all previous ones, was not agreed, the police did not interfere in what was happening, and only kept the entrance to the government. After about 15 minutes, the crowd moved from the square along the main street of Muravyev-Amursky towards Amur-already the usual route along which the Khabarovsk people walked a procession all week.
In the morning on the street they began to update the asphalt, so that three of the four lanes were occupied by Kamazami and skating rinks. The remaining strip stood in a blank cork. But it seems that this did not annoy the drivers: many got out of the cars and removed the procession, someone put the sheets in the window with the inscription “I/we Sergey Furgal”, someone signaled the scandrous one.
The composition of the procession is very different-there are adolescents and pensioners, people 30-40 years old, several people in wheelchairs. After about 30 minutes, the procession reached Amur. People stretched throughout Muravyev-Amursky Street, chanting: "Freedom." There is nowhere to go further, so the column turns onto Turgenev’s side Street, and then to the wider street of Lenin, where the flows of people again merged into one. Behind the descent, ahead of the rise and the whole huge column is visible in the palm of your hand. People again begin to chant: "Our choice, our Furgal."
Next to the Medusa correspondent, a young guy discusses past elections with two elderly women.
“Shport [the previous governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Vyacheslav Shport] - there was a lobby for Muscovites,” the guy argues.
“And Furgal just walked so to pull off the voices,” says one of the women.
“The spoiler is called,” says the young man. “But I didn’t know about him at all, I saw only a photo from the Duma with a glass .”
“Yes, they all indulge in meetings there, sleep,” the third woman says conciliatoryly.
Several participants in the rally say “Medusa” that there are more people today than last Saturday, although that rally was already named the most numerous in the history of Khabarovsk. Kommersant later estimated the number of participants in the action on July 18 at 50 thousand people, and the Khabarovsk city hall stated that the action had come to 30% less than last Saturday.
The fact that the protest will decline, this week the Medusa correspondent was assured by a source close to the apparatus of the plenipotentiary Yuri Trutnev, who came to Khabarovsk on Sunday to pacify the protest. The Khabarovsk residents perceive these statements skeptical:
- He is not ours, he just looking from Moscow, he showed his weakness and that he was far from the people. He came here and spoke with the elites, and the elites are not us, ”the member of the rally Tatyana tells the Medusa correspondent.
Another participant in the rally, Stanislav, a lean man over 40, tells Medusa that he does not believe in accusations against Furgal, because Eduard Kuchinsky , for involvement in the loss of which the investigation checks the van, is his, Stanislav, his native uncle
- Vargala is accused of the disappearance of my uncle Eduard Kuchinsky, but I do not believe in it. When my uncle disappeared, Furgal was young, 27 years old, no one could turn to him, order. Again there is an invention of the authorities, slicing on a normal person, - actively gesturing, explains Stanislav.

There are several people at the rally, similar to employees of the ED center, who usually take off protests in Moscow. In the morning they stood near the entrance to the government, and now they shoot the crowd with two amateur video cameras.
Turning into Pushkin Street, the procession returns to Lenin Square again.
The area is flooded with the sun: in Khabarovsk today there are more than 30 degrees of heat, very moist, people wipe the sweat and many line up to buy water. Saleswriters in the store discuss that local authorities did not allow riot police from other regions to Khabarovsk, because "they would only wave clubs." A few cars with riot police are really on duty next to the square, and all Khabarovsk rooms.
The crowd surrounds the government again. Several people with large banners go forward, on which it is written: “The declaration: we, the inhabitants of the Khabarovsk Territory, demand: 1) the transfer of the court session from Moscow to Khabarovsk, 2) the court session should be as public as possible 3) the case of the jury should be considered.”
The protesters chant: “freedom”, “Furgal, hold on” and “This is our land”. A man of about 50 begins to shout: “Putin is resigned”, but no one supports him, the crowd begins to scream again: “Freedom”, and then “Khabarovsk’s lawyer”.
Despite the heat, people continue to stand in the square under the scorching sun. Several people brought five -liter bottles of water, sit with it on the lawn and pour it into the glasses as a protester. Some of the protesters are looking for a shadow under the Christmas trees or in the shade of the building, but even in the shade in the square is very hot.
The crowd begins to chant: “Kravchuk [mayor of Khabarovsk Sergey Kravchuk], come out”: on the eve of the mayor publicly suspected participants in the shares on campaigns for rallies for a fee. Kravchuk does not go to the protesters, and the crowd moves again to Muravyov-Amursky-and again goes to the Amur. From the laid asphalt there is heat, the soles stick to bitumen, on the clock - about two in the afternoon.
People are tired, and this time they almost do not chant. The column is very stretched, someone is behind to get water or wash in a street column. But having made another circle, people decide not to stay with the government, but to go to the city hall building. There they again call Kravchuk for some time, and then again return to the government building.
Now no more than a thousand people are left on the square. A megaphone appears in the crowd, the protesters decide to express their opinion on him about the Furgal and what is happening to him.
- He is not allowed to communicate with a lawyer, he does not know what is happening here, is it constitutionally? Where are the laws? Is he some criminal or a bandit? The investigation can not say anything, to present any evidence. Yes, because he went against those people who rob us. Caviar in our Far East is more expensive than in Moscow, although everything is caught with us. I grew up here and I don't want to leave anywhere. I want my children to grow here, find decent work and become decent people, and not go abroad or to Moscow. In the end, this is our land, this is our governor, and we will not give it to anyone, ”says the guy in a black T -shirt. After three hours in the heat, his gaze is dull, sweat rolled into hail.
Following Megaphone takes a girl in a colorful open dress. Excited, she says:
- Mena is the name of Anna Skifova, I live the village of Vinogradovka. Sergey Ivanovich [Furgal] came to our village last year, and now we have a school, and very large. And before that, our students studied at a fanned school, went to the toilet to the street.
People are closely surrounding the speakers, but their circle is already very small. Those who leave the square are trying to hang their posters on the Christmas tree. It is already hanging a cardboard with the inscription “Honest Court” and “Freedom to Furgal”.
-For example, I myself am a orphan, and when he came, a movement began, many houses began to be built, I would be in line. With other governors, this was not the case, - so the girl in a white cap explains to the Medusa correspondent, why she came to the square.
Other residents of the region say that Furgal did a lot for him, talked with the people, heard his problems, took care of apartments for orphans, provided all schoolchildren with hot food, set preferential prices for tickets from the northern regions to Khabarovsk, and helped equity holders.
- This problem [equity holders] did not interest anyone at all, no one was doing this and was not even going to. Sergey Ivanovich came and said that I would solve this problem. There were constantly meetings with him, from each house there were representatives of the initiative group, asked questions. The assistant governor kept contact with us, said-if something was not executed, which at the meetings agreed, call immediately, the trumpet. If we complained, then meetings gathered again. Now it’s really scary for people who did not have time to get into the reign of Sergei Ivanovich, ”Meduza told Meduza on the eve of the Saturday rally of the Khabarovsk woman Ekaterina. Her own house last week was put into operation.
In addition to these stories, there are many others, sometimes very small. On July 16, the press secretary of Furgal Nadezhda Tomchenko in her Instagram asked the residents to tell why they are grateful to the governor. Under the post, almost 800 comments on completely different topics were gained - people write that Furgal helped them to arrange children in the group of the kindergarten, helped with the construction of the road, began to build a clinic, repaired the roof in kindergarten.
“In our morgue, a refrigeration unit was broken for a year and a half. The morgue’s employees froze ice in bottles in the summer, well in winter, snow - came out, typed, put on. For a year and a half, they fought, beat, and the price of the issue was 30 thousand. He sent us the Minister of Health - and now they repaired, ”Medusa told Medusa a member of the public council of the village of Elban Daria Nekrasova. The 11,000th Elban is 500 kilometers from Khabarovsk, but Furgal managed to visit twice there.
Thanks to the van, they fixed the roof in the hospital, he himself brought an ultrasound apparatus to it, promised to make repairs in the sports complex where there has been no repairs since 1992 and open the hockey circle, Daria lists. Her mother, Natalya Nekrasova, tells her, she is responsible for the sports complex in the village. On Friday in Elban there was also a rally - residents laid out with candles on the asphalt “I/we Sergey Furgal” and arranged a procession.
“I can't sleep for a week, worried. For these incomplete two years, at least we felt our lives. Such a governor in all the lands and the region of our homeland, ”Natalya Nekrasova worries.
“Mom, don’t cry,” Daria tells her.
“Yes, I'm not crying,” she brushes off.
Alexandra Strashko from Khabarovsk told Medusa that thanks to Furgalu in the Krasnaya River in Khabarovsk, a water supply was held.
- The military town was originally here, but now it is populated by civilian, and here the problem is in the water. [Military] Part still built the pipeline, and the water was disgusting from the tap. People began to complain to Sergey Ivanovich, and we laid the water supply, and in the high -rise building we now have good hot water, cold water is clean. The water was like that ... I don’t know how it was checking the previous governors that it was suitable for drinking, my curtain in the bathroom corroded, ”she sighs. - He helped people with diseases, who, for example, were hard to get a quota, for example, if an elderly person. Trutnev says - nothing was done in the region, so if it were so, people would not have left. They say now that they have paid - but at the rallies, so many people would never have come that less than a day people just have come out for so many days in a row. These are people to whom he helped one way or another.
“Many at work were written out to not participate in rallies, but people are not afraid,” says Daria Nekrasova from Elban. - You need to be afraid of the future without a van. We, the Far East, are hardened by the people, we have such frosts, and now there is such a stuffiness, so we are not afraid of anything, we will walk until September.
