The Moscow prosecutor's office approved the indictment in the case of actor Mikhail Efremov in the case of a drunken accident in which a person died, TASS reports with reference to the head of the press service of the city prosecutor's office Lyudmila Nefedova.
Efremov is accused under paragraph “a” of Part 4 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code (violation of traffic rules by a person driving a car, committed while intoxicated, resulting in the death of a person through negligence).
“The criminal case will be sent to the Presnensky District Court of Moscow for consideration on the merits,” Nefedova said.
On the evening of June 8, in the center of Moscow, Efremov, driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee, drove into the oncoming lane and crashed into a Lada passenger van, the driver of which received numerous injuries and died in the hospital the next day.
The examination established that Efremov was driving drunk. RBC and TASS , citing sources, also reported that traces of drugs were found in the actor’s blood. Efremov was sent under house arrest.
