The Ministry of Finance proposed cutting costs for the state arms program due to coronavirus

The Ministry of Finance, amid falling budget revenues due to the pandemic, proposed to reduce funding for the state arms program by 5% in the period from 2021 to 2023. RBC writes about it.

As the newspaper notes, the annual distribution of appropriations within the framework of the state arms program is classified. Viktor Murakhovsky, editor-in-chief of the Arsenal of the Fatherland magazine, based on the volume of state orders for these years, estimated the volume of cuts proposed by the Ministry of Finance at 225 billion rubles.

• The state armaments program is designed for 10 years - it is valid from 2018 to 2027. The program provides, in particular, for the development of the S-500 system, the Sarmat and Rubezh intercontinental missiles, the adoption of Su-57 fighter jets, and the construction of the Borey-B submarine.
• In total, 20 trillion rubles are provided for the implementation of the state armaments program. Of these, 19 - for the purchase and repair of weapons and equipment, one trillion - for the development of infrastructure.
