Suspected of using violence against a police officer in Gatchina was released on an undertaking to appear

Volodymyr Shipitsyn, a participant in a rally in support of the Crimean Tatars, was released from the Investigative Committee on a promise to appear. This was announced by the lawyer from OVD-Info Anton Yupanov, representing the interests of Shipitsyn.

The action took place on July 18 in Gatchina, the police detained six people. Five were left overnight at the police station, and Vladimir Shipitsyn was taken to the Investigative Committee, suspecting that he had used violence against a representative of the authorities (part 1 of article 318 of the Criminal Code). The case was initiated due to the fact that during the arrest of Shipitsyn, the flag pole, which he held in his hand, fell on the cap of a policeman, according to the investigation.

On July 20, the investigator in charge of the case held a confrontation between Shipitsyn and the injured police officer. After that, Shipitsyn signed an obligation to appear , according to which he is required to come to all investigative actions on demand. This obligation does not impose restrictions on movement, but if Shipitsyn changes his place of residence, he must inform the investigator about this.

The rest of those detained at the rally in Gatchina - Olga Smirnova, Asan Mumdzhi, Ilyas Eshref, Tatyana Sichkareva and Dmitry Negodin - were released on July 19. The trial of their cases was postponed to the end of July and the beginning of August. They drew up protocols under the article on organizing or holding an uncoordinated public event (part 2 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) and on disobedience to a police officer (article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

Lawyer Yupanov said that Shipitsyn was brought to the Investigative Committee for familiarization with the protocol on the 2nd part of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, which was also drawn up against him at the Gatchina Ministry of Internal Affairs.
