The Moscow City Court dismissed the case against the second of the sisters detained at the “I/We Ivan Golunov” rally

The Moscow City Court, due to the expiration of the statute of limitations, terminated the administrative case regarding participation in an uncoordinated event against Ekaterina Kinchevskaya. Nikolai Zboroshenko, a defender from OVD-Info, reports this.

Kinchevskaya was detained at the “I/We Ivan Golunov” rally on June 12 last year along with her sister Anna. They were taken to the Golovinsky police station, where they were charged with participation in an uncoordinated event that resulted in interference with the functioning of infrastructure (Part 6.1 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code).

The Golovinsky District Court in the case of Ekaterina Kinchevskaya acted absolutely identically to the case of Anna Kinchevskaya. On the same dates, the same judge returned poorly prepared case files to the police. Then both cases were transferred to another judge, who hurried to accept them for proceedings - since the one-year period for prosecution was expiring. The new judge in the case did not notify both sisters and their lawyer Zboroshenko about the time and place of the hearing, and issued a fine of 10 thousand rubles as a carbon copy.

On July 20, Moscow City Court Judge Lashkov, after checking the argument of failure to notify, overturned the decision of the first instance and terminated the proceedings due to the expiration of the statute of limitations for bringing Ekaterina Kinchevskaya to administrative responsibility.

• On July 14, the Moscow City Court dismissed a similar case against Anna Kinchevskaya, also due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.
• The action on June 12, 2019 “I/We Ivan Golunov” against fabricated cases in Moscow was accompanied by harsh and mass arrests . In Moscow that day, according to OVD-Info, 530 people were detained, at least 5 spent the night in police departments.
• Meduza investigative correspondent Ivan Golunov was detained on June 6. A criminal case was opened against him for attempting to sell drugs on a large scale (clause “d”, part 4, article 228.1 of the Criminal Code with the use of part 3, article 30 of the Criminal Code). The journalist himself said that bags of drugs were planted on him, and after his arrest they beat him, refused to call an ambulance and did not allow him to call a lawyer. In court, the journalist suggested that the reason for initiating the case was an investigation into the funeral business: he was detained on the day the first draft was submitted, and previously he had received threats because of this text. On June 11, the charges against Golunov were completely dropped and released from house arrest due to the lack of proof of his participation in the commission of the crime.
