
The Moscow prosecutor's office approved the indictment against actor Mikhail Efremov. He will be judged under the article of the Criminal Code "Violation of a person driving a car, the rules of the road, committed intoxicated, entailed by negligence the death of a person."
Efremov faces up to 12 years in prison. The minimum sentence under this article is 5 years in prison. The case will be considered Presnensky district court of Moscow.
On June 8, an accident occurred in the center of Moscow with the participation of actor Mikhail Efremov. According to investigators, while driving intoxicated, he drove into the oncoming lane and crashed into a mini-furgon, the driver of which, Sergei Zakharov, died of injuries. The Tagan court of Moscow sent Efremov under house arrest for two months.
A few days later, the actor recorded a video message in which he apologized to Zakharov’s relatives, assured that he would help them with all the means that he has, while emphasizing that this is "not an attempt to pay off, but an attempt to redeem." Efremov also stated that he was not going to “be excited” from punishment using his connections or acquaintances. The family of the deceased Sergei Zakharov did not accept.
