
The State Duma in the third reading adopted a law on the recognition of the alienation of the territories of Russia with extremism, TASS reports .
Changes are made to the law "On Countering Extremist Activities." The initiative was developed by Pavel Krasheninnikov and Andrei Klishas.
Extremism is recognized as a violation of territorial integrity and alienation of the territory of Russia. At the same time, delimitation, demarcation, redemation of the state border of Russia with neighboring states do not fall under extremist activity.
The Criminal Code will be replenished with article 280.2 "Violation of the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation." The punishment under the article will be from 6 to 10 years in prison.
Administrative fines for calls for alienation of Russian territories will have to amount to 500 thousand rubles. The bill regarding punishment for violation of the territorial integrity of Russia, as well as calls for its alienation, was submitted to the State Duma on July 8.
