Police detained nine more participants in clashes between Armenians and Azerbaijanis in Moscow

Police detained nine participants in the clashes in New Moscow and in the west of the capital, and criminal cases were opened for hooliganism (Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code). This was reported by the city department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the department, on July 24 in New Moscow, a man was wounded and a store window was broken. On the same day, in the west of the city, glass was broken in the buildings of a cafe and a car wash; one visitor was injured due to the fragments.

Baza described these clashes in more detail. Thus, according to the publication, on the evening of July 24, seven masked men attacked the Baku Yard restaurant on Mosfilmovskaya Street. They broke the windows of a restaurant and a car wash located in the same building on the ground floor, and then left in a car.

In Salaryevo on the same day, about 20 people attacked the Armenian House cafe. “The windows in the building and the administrator of the establishment were broken - now he is being taken to the hospital,” wrote Baza .

Clashes between Armenians and Azerbaijanis in Moscow have been going on for several days. On July 24, police opened criminal cases of hooliganism and robbery due to a mass brawl in the southeast of Moscow, and 25 people were detained. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSB threatened “very, very harsh” punishments for interethnic clashes in Moscow.
