A court in Nizhny Novgorod overturned the decision to arrest local resident Maksim Alibaev for 3 days, reported Apology of Protest . The case was sent for a new trial to the Nizhny Novgorod District Court of Nizhny Novgorod.
On July 26, Alibayev stood in a picket against the inadmissibility of a candidate from Yabloko in the elections to the city duma. He was detained for refusing to show his passport to the police and a protocol was drawn up under the article on disobedience to a police officer (Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). Alibaev was left overnight at the police station after he refused to leave as a sign of solidarity with other detainees. The district court considered the case without the prosecutor's sanction, which was required because Alibaev is a voting member of the PEC. The judge decided that he could not establish the fact of belonging to the commission based on the certificate of the PEC member.
