In Dagestan, the detention of journalist of the Chernovik publication Abdulmumin Gadzhiev was extended

The Supreme Court of Dagestan extended until September 13 the detention of Abdulmumin Gadzhiev, a journalist from the religion department of the Dagestan publication Chernovik. This was reported by the press service of the Memorial Human Rights Center.

The measure of restraint for Gadzhiev was extended as part of a criminal case under articles on participation in the activities of an extremist organization (part 2 of article 282.2 of the Criminal Code), participation in a terrorist organization (part 2 of article 205.5 of the Criminal Code) and financing of its activities (part 4 of article 205.1 UK).

Last time, on June 10, the same court extended the journalist's detention in the pre-trial detention center until August 13. Then the investigation asked for an extension of the term of custody in order to separate the Hajiyev case into a separate proceeding and send a request to Interpol to put eight more defendants on the international wanted list in the same case.
