Airbus does not expect aircraft production to increase until 2022

The world's largest manufacturer of passenger airliners, the European Airbus, said that it sees no prospects for increasing production until 2022.

Airbus reported a loss of 1.9 billion euros for the first half of the year (a year ago it received 1.2 billion euros in profit). The company intends to save cash in the second half of the year in anticipation of a long and difficult recovery, its quotes rose by almost 3% by 14.30 Moscow time.

The assembly of the flagship A350 wide-body aircraft will again be slowed down from 6 to 5 aircraft per month.

By the end of the first half of the year, 196 aircraft were sent to customers, half as many as in 2019. The manufacturer has 146 finished aircraft in storage.

Market recovery will begin with the narrow-body A320neo, the company is sure. Demand for wide-body jets won't recover until 2023 or even 2025.
