Putin signed the law on voting in three days

Vladimir Putin signed a law on three-day voting in elections at all levels. The first vote on the new rules will take place in September.

The law signed by the President of Russia was officially published today. By decision of the election commission, polling stations will be able to work for several days in a row, but no more than three. The ballots will be counted on the last day, and the voting format tested in the voting on amendments to the Constitution in the adjacent territories will be preserved during multi-day elections.

On the day the law was approved by the Federation Council, the CEC of Russia announced that separate elections of a single voting day on September 13 would be held in three days. The May amendments on the right to establish the procedure and timing of citizens' voting "in order to create conditions for protecting their health" and "creating maximum convenience" will allow changing the duration of voting in the elections already approved by the CEC.

Elections of various levels are scheduled for September: elections of State Duma deputies will be held in four regions. In 11 regions, deputies of legislative assemblies will be elected, and in 18 - governors. Elections of heads of two regions are also planned - the Nenets and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrugs.
