Entrepreneurial income of Russians fell to a 20-year minimum

The share of entrepreneurial income in the structure of all cash income of Russians in the second quarter of 2020 decreased to 3.5%. According to RBC with reference to the data of Rosstat, this is the lowest quarterly value of the indicator since at least 2000.

In monetary terms, income from entrepreneurial activity amounted to about 512 billion rubles in the second quarter, which is 300 billion less than in the first quarter of 2020.

Trading, hotel business, restaurants, sport, as well as mass events and services, were injured in total. Salaries were reduced by every second worker, and 2.5% of Russians occupied in these areas collided with a complete loss of income.

Entrepreneurial income includes a reward for the work of individual entrepreneurs, income from renting housing and other property, copyright rewards, bonuses of directors and others.

During the same period, the real disposable income of Russians fell by 8% in annual terms, which has become a record fall since 1999.

Despite measures of state support for the population during the pandemic, social payments from the state in the second quarter were provided with 21.8% of the cash income of the population, which is slightly less than the result of the first quarter of 2020 (22.1%).
