Amur Region: Oil Products got into the Selemja River

In the north of the Amur Region, oil products got into the Selemja River. Local authorities establish the causes and scale of the emergency, and experts of the Ministry of Emergencies are trying to save the ecosystem of the river from death.

A group of rescuers has been transferred to the north of the region, bonal barriers were installed on Selemja, the Ministry of Emergencies said. This happened five days after the locals complained about the presence of an oil film on the river.

It is still unknown how oil products hit the river. Experts of Rosprirodnadzor work on the spot, and a group of officials of the regional government went to the north of the region. On Selemja and its tributaries, several artels produce gold, it is assumed that the leak came from tanks with fuel at one of these enterprises.

The scale of the environmental disaster has yet to be determined.
