In Moscow, on July 31 , a criminal case was opened against the municipal deputy Julia Galyamina. Over the past six months, she has been fined three times for participating in inconsistent mass events and for calls to participate in them (by the way, it is important to keep in mind that single pickets are now also considered mass events, and neither police officers nor judges are confused in the ruling). Three cases in six months are not a joke, this is already enough for the "Dadin" article 212.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - "repeated violation of the order of mass events."
Everything is serious: the violation is “ punished with a fine of six hundred thousand to one million rubles or in the amount of wages or other income of the convicted person for a period of two to three years, or by obligatory work for up to four hundred eighty hours, or correctional work for a period of one year to two years, or forced labor for a period of up to five years, or by deprivation of freedom for the same period.” The first victim under this article - obviously violating the right of citizens to freedom of assembly, became Ildar Dadin, from where the informal name is. Dadin turned out to be a desperate man, the system almost broke his teeth about him, the constitutional court had to make a special decision in his case. Everything, of course, is in a difficult legal language, but the idea is that if the violator does not represent a clear public danger, then it is not necessary to plant it. In general, humanism, as we are accepted here, triumphed.
By the way, Konstantin Kotov, convicted under the "Dadin" article during the "Moscow case", is still sitting. Although a wild, in no case is a consistent sentence-4 years of colony-he was still softened. Only one and a half will have to serve. A year and a half without guilt-completely trifle, so, apparently, somehow reasoned in court. Again the triumph of humanism.
