
The prosecutor of Petrozavodsk appealed the sentence to Karelian historian Yuri Dmitriev, whom the court found guilty of violent acts of a sexual nature. This was reported on the website of the Petrozavodsk City Court.

The court in Petrozavodsk on July 22 sentenced Yuri Dmitriev to 3.5 years in a maximum security colony. He was accused of sexual violence in relation to the adopted daughter, depraved actions, the manufacture of pornography and illegal storage of weapons. The historian was found guilty only on the first charges, by the rest - justified.
The first case against the historian was excited in 2016. He was accused of making pornography with the participation of the adopted daughter, but he was justified. Later, the Supreme Court of Karelia canceled the decision. In 2018, a new criminal case was opened against Dmitriev.
