According to him, at the beginning of 2020, more than 14 thousand unemployed were registered in St. Petersburg. By the beginning of August, their number increased by 7 times - up to 102 thousand people.
According to Cherniko, most of the registered unemployed are Petersburgers, who for some reason did not work until March 1, or worked unofficially. It became more unemployed after the authorities announced the payment of benefits from coronavirus. “These people realized that the employment service is what they need. And they came to us,” the St. Petersburg channel quotes the official.
